Students are learning about the super talented William Wegman! He is an artist who takes pictures of his dogs dressed up as various characters. Check out the videos below!
This week we are beginning our Pop Art and Pointillism project. We spent almost an entire class period learning about these two styles of art. We particularly focused on the art of Andy Warhol. We also looked at how a pointillism project was created by another elementary school!
Students are beginning their monster sculptures this week. We will view various videos on animations especially claymation. They will create a monster using model magic, feathers, colored wire, and bright colored acrylic paint!
This week we are learning about the art of Takashi Murakami. We learned about his collaboration with Louis Vuitton and watched his advertising campaign below. Now students will create their own logo pandas!
We are starting our Crazy Chameleon Critters! We learned cool facts about why chameleons change color and what the parts of their body actually do. Check out the video below for a real chameleon walking across the street. Do you remember why he walks like this?

We are exploring more of the art of Tim Burton and doing an illustration of the cheshire cat! Students will be doing an illustration of the cat on gray paper using oil pastels.
